Tropical Residency

As part of our on-going collaboration with Glasgow-based record label Tropical popup: yes, we were given creative freedom to develop new assets, in line with the label’s residency at Nice'N'Sleazys.

We created a typographic mark, hand-painted a series of illustrations, designed a series of posters for up-and-coming nights and shot a selection of photographs at the launch night.

The posters combine hand drawn illustration with erratic typography to create an abstraction which reflects the experimental nature of Tropical’s mixes, often involving layers of music, spoken word, environmental sounds and samples from popular culture.
